So, how much spam comments are you getting in your blog? To be honest I get more than 10 spam comments in this blog each day. That’s some weird stats as this blog doesn’t have that much traffic each day (We do have just 2 articles right now). So, how much spams can I expect when I get enough traffic for this blog? I don’t want to go beyond the guesses but I can assure you that I won’t be approving any of those spams in this blog. If you don’t want to too then just use some common senses which is not always common.

Must of these spams are inserted in your blog/website using some automated tools which has not become that best to post different and unique comment in sites, so you can easily understand it to be spam.

1) Use recaptcha.net API as CAPTCHA
Acquired by Google, Recaptcha.net is said to be best CAPTCHA for website which can be used at free of cost for your website and used by Internet dominators like Facebook. All the CAPTCHA text are scanned images of books which cannot be identified by OCR too. So, it is the first and spam proof CAPTCHA, you would ever dream to use for your website.

2) They always thanks you, bookmarks you or will visit your website frequently
I know spammers bot isn’t reading but they always thanks you for your post, bookmark you or promise to visit your website regularly for updates but be sure they won’t do as they promised.

3) Inserts the link or messages totally unrelated
Sometimes they go too rude, they will just post their links and advertise their product which is totally unrelated to the posts. I would be happy if they could post related product or tips on the post but they do not. Here is a sample I got right now.
“do you need extra 452 daily visitors on your site? take a look at seonetlinks . com/?aff=bls”

4) Check in Google before approving to see if you can find related comment in others
After all they are bot so, they won’t be able use their mind to post different comments to different websites which you can use to know them clearly. Search for “comment snippet” in google and you can clearly get huge no. of results. That’s the final step I ever take to check if that’s bot or some anonymous who cannot write the comments properly. For example, if you want to check if above post is spam or not then search for this in Google without removing the quotes “take a look at seonetlinks . com/”.
You can easily get exact comment in other websites too proving it to be a spam comment.

Now, I know some bots are going to post here to thanks me for the best post ever seen.

    Mr. Manohar,

This was what I’ve seen for the first time that needs to be noted. Specially the Link Builders should know how the site owners (should) detects spam comments. More importantly blog commenter are using different scripts and software targeting WordPress and other CMS.

Windmills and wind turbines have never been passé. Wind energy can help generate tonnes of megawatts of electricity. When employed at individual estates, it can help do away with conventional power sources. An excellent renewable source of energy, the wind energy will go a long way in promising a good future to generations to come. This book describes this and other solution you can implement in you home. [Download]

This comment was little bit relevant with the post on “ChangeClimate.Org” but it used anchor on keyword [Download] which was linked on a BlogSpot site that redirects visitors again to another BlogSpot site. Hence I’ve determined that this clever commenter knew how to post relevant comment but he/she should have used link on URL field rather than using irrelevant link between relevant comment.

    Thanks
